The drinks company. Refresco, has recently made the difficult decision to close down their Wrexham site with the loss of 147 jobs. Long term decreased demand for the out-of-home market produced at this facility, compounded by the Covid 19 pandemic resulted in the plant being no longer viable.
IPC has been scanning paperwork from the Refresco Head Office in Kegworth since 2014 and was invited to submit a quotation for digitising documents from their Wrexham site following its closure. The contract was awarded to IPC and paper files from several departments including HR, Accounts and Production have been collected.
The scanned data will be transferred to servers at Head Office so it will be accessible should any queries arise at any time in the future.
IPC’s Marketing Manager, Pam Roberts, commented:
‘It is always sad to hear of business closures and job losses and we hope that by preserving such valuable documentation, we are helping, in some way. We very much appreciate the opportunity Refresco has given us.’
