What is MoReq2?

MoReq2 is a Model Requirements Specification for the Management of Electronic Records, version 2. Published in 2008, MoReq2 is an upgrade of MoReq1 which was released in 2001.

The standards were produced at the request of the DLM Forum which is a community of public archives and interested parties in archive, records and document and information lifecycle management throughout the EU.

It is said that MoReq2 will become the defacto standard across Europe for users and suppliers of electronic records management systems and services. It is also set to revolutionise electronic records management procurement by acting as a basis for invitations to tender and as guidelines to the development of new electronic records management systems.

In addition, it can be used to provide a checklist for the auditing of electronic records management systems or services and as an educational resource for teachers and trainers.
